Youngster Olly Tice made the most of his Westbury first-team call-up by smashing a century to get his side’s OCA League Division 1 title challenge back on track.

Tice slammed 112 off the visiting Chadlington attack, and with Tom Wilson (84) and Tom Gurney (62) also in the runs, Westbury amassed a huge 334-3 to set up a 160-run victory.

Despite 51 apiece from Dan Townsend and Freddie Magee, Chadlington fell for 174 with Graham Judd taking 5-35.

Tice followed up Saturday’s century with 87 the next day as Westbury posted a 54-run win at home to Stonesfield in the Airey Cup quarter-finals.

He led Westbury to 214-9, before Sam Stoop took 4-50 and Graham Judd 3-33 as Stonesfield were bowled out for 160.

Joe Leonard’s 110 was all in vain for Marsh Gibbon, who lost by three wickets at Wantage under the target score method in their quarter-final.

Leonard helped Marsh Gibbon to 201 all out.

But, after a rain delay, Wantage’s target was reduced to 180, which they reached with seven wickets down as Colin Mercer hit 74 and David Spencer 62.

Ian Challand (49no) and Richard Chapman (37) helped Wantage to 193-8, but Marsh crept over the winning line at 194-8 as Stuart Leonard hit 42.

Fringford cruised to a ninewicket win against visitors Watlington in Division 3.

Sanjeewa Jayakody took 6-45 and Ian Hedley 4-21 as Watlington were shot out for 131, and then Jonny Reid hit 83 not out to take Fringford to 133-1 and an easy victory.

Chesterton saw off Westcott by seven wickets.

Chris White (32) and Phil Lowe (31no) then led Chesterton to 135-3.

Brill are the new Division 6 leaders after a six-wicket win at Broughton & North Newington 2nd.
