An heroic captain's innings of 118 by Didcot's Matt Jones was eclipsed by an outstanding all-round performance from Oxford Downs 2nd's Steve Roberts.

Roberts took 5-55 and hit an unbeaten 87 as Downs cruised to a ten-wicket win.

Didcot had been bowled out for 206 after being asked to bat, which the home side passed without loss thanks to Roberts and Tim Hardy (93no).

Challow & Childrey 2nd became the first team to deprive Wolverton Town of victory this season in a keenly fought contest that went to the wire.

Requiring 214 to win, Town were 205-8 at the start of the final over and finished on 209-9.

Earlier Roger Podbery had hit 62 in Challow's 213-7, then Stefan Pichowski (75) and Hakim Khan (40) led Town's reply.

Adam Mould took 5-23 and James Shirley 5-31 as Bledlow Village beat Buckingham Town 2nd to make the most of Wolverton's slip up and go top of the table.

Town were rolled over for just 56 in 21.2 overs, then Bledlow eased to 57-3.

Stefan Read, who took all ten wickets against Bicester & North Oxford 2nd last month, claimed 8-28 as Stokenchurch thrashed Brackley by nine wickets.

The visitors were soon all back in the pavilion after being bowled out for 86, and when they took the field again were powerless to stop an onslaught from Arshad Latif (55no) as the hosts knocked off the runs in 12.2 overs.

Bicester & North Oxford 2nd are still in relegation trouble after being bowled out for 128 at Princes Risborough.

Paul Green took 4-43 for the hosts, then Adam Morton (39no) and Richard Griffin (37no) saw them overcome a sticky start to reach 129-4.

Only Andrew Wingfield-Digby, who top-scored with 39 and took 3-35, stood between Bicester and an even heavier defeat.
