An outstanding all round performance by Jimmy Phillips helped Challow & Childrey hammer Long Marston by 169 runs in Division 2.

First Phillips smashed 120, and with Steve Burry (50no) he enabled the home side to post an imposing 255-7. Then Phillips took 7-14 with his leg spin as Marston crumbled to 86 all out.

Dave Rose produced one of the performances of the day, taking 7-72, but still finished on the losing side as Banbury 2nd proved far too good for newly promoted Hanborough.

Despite Rose's efforts Banbury still reached 218-9, Ed Phillips leading the way with 52.

Paul Hill then took 4-18 and Richard Brooks 4-30 as the visitors collapsed to 108 all out.

Left-arm spinner Paul White took 6-71 for Abingdon Vale, but two hours later was last man out as Vale were dismissed for 126 by Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.

Former Kidlington star Andrew Buckingham top-scored with 42 in Nondies' 202-9, before the ex-Kidlington skipper, spinner Mark Strong, took 3-45 as Vale's Ed Tilley (32no) ran out of partners.

Chas Taylor (48) and Philip Paterson (43) gave Sandford St Martin a flying start at Great & Little Tew, but they were pegged back by Kevin Taylor (4-41) and bowled out for 173.

Tew made a steadier start against Richard Murrey (3-47), but Lloyd Brock held the middle order together to finish on 68 not out and with his side on 175-5.

Riaan Krynauw hit 71 and Matt Maule 38 as Tiddington racked up a respectable 200-8 at Bourton Vale.

Ryan Hill took 5-51 for Vale and then watched Paul Lazenbury score a fine 114 not out as the hosts reached 201-4 in the 37th over, despite John Clarke's 3-52.
