Seamer Lee Mason returned impressive figures of 7-35 as Horspath thrashed Bletchley Town by nine wickets in Division 1.

Mason’s super spell saw Bletchley shot out for a meagre 95 after they had been put in to bat on a sporting pitch.

Left-hander Chris Penner then stroked an unbeaten 50 as the visitors claimed maximum points and moved up to fourth.

James Soppet took 5-53 to bowl Banbury Twenty to their first win of the season, and put a dent in Oxford Downs' title hopes with a 63-run victory.

Twenty defended 245-8 after being asked to bat, with only Lester Smart (31no) of the Downs batsmen getting going before they were all out for 182.

Earlier, the visitors' innings had been built around useful contributions from Timothy Pearce (71), Mark Haupt (54) and Dave Clark (46), while Richard Gauntlett took 5-48.

Oxford Downs 6, Banbury Twenty 25

Cumnor collapsed to 47-5 in the 15th over at home to Bicester & North Oxford before a captain's innings by Adam Cook (82no) set the home side on the way to a 60-run victory.

Cook added 113 for the eighth wicket with all-rounder Carl Thompson (55), which took the hosts from 88-7 towards their total of 217-8.

Phil Clark took 4-42 for Bicester, but off-spinner Cook then took 4-23 as the visitors crumbled to 157 all out.

Oxford 2nd batsman Joe Jenkins suffered the ignominy of being given timed out as his side were bundled out for 81 by Shipton-under-Wychwood.

Shipton's hero was Craig Lambert, who took 5-26 in a devastating 13-over spell after Oxford were put in to bat.

The home side wasted no time knocking off the winning runs, with Andrew Hemming (36no) and Tim Senior (38no) taking them to 84-1 in 17 overs.

Dinton went top after getting the better of a draw with morning leaders Buckingham Town.

Town's Vishal Valambhia took 7-77 in Dinton's 238-9, of which Rob King made 90.

Half-centuries from Leigh Tomlinson (51), Graham Judd (51) and Brook Hatwell (50) kept the visitors in contention, but Adam Mould (4-49) ensured Buckingham closed on 214-8.
