FOOTBALL: Super Owen slams four-timer

Richard Owen hammered a four-timer as Arncott did the double over Barford with a 4-1 away win in the Banbury District & Lord Jersey FA Premier Division.

Hethe ran out 5-1 winners at Broughton & North Newington where Scott Edwards dominated the defence and was backed up by another superb performance from Adam Hall in goal.

Peter Goss, Daniel Sweeney and Mark Beard were among the scorers.

In Division 1, KEA scored a last-gasp equaliser to snatch a 2-2 draw at Slade Farm to take over pole position.

KEA snatched the lead before the break, but Adam Barker replied after the break and with five minutes to go, Lee Clack powered home a header to put Slade in front.

Sam Donaldson then got the equaliser.

Having ensured promotion from Division 3 last week, Slade Farm Res wrapped up the title with a 5-1 win over Drayton Village Res, with goals from Callum Wayne (2), Robbie Alexander (2) and Paul Sweeney.

Slade Farm failed in their bid to reach their third cup final as they lost 1-0 to Bishops Itchington in the Banbury Charity Cup semi-final.

Jordan Cox scored the winner.

KEA Res beat Hethe Res 2-0 to lift the Geoff Wilson Cup.

Ian Edge did the damage with a super double.
