Adam Buxey found the net four times for Bicester in their 8-1 thrashing of British Airways in MBBO Division 1
Adam Buxey smashed four goals as Bicester came from behind to thrash British Airways 8-1 in MBBO Division 1.
Bicester went ahead when a shot from Andy Brown was deflected past his own keeper by a British Airways defender.
Buxey doubled their lead when he slotted home from close range after Jon Roger’s pass, before the former made it 3-0.
Although British Airways clawed one back, CJ Birtles made it 4-1 with a shot past the keeper from Adam Drewitt’s pass.
Two opposition players were yellow carded for as British Airways lost their discipline, before a visiting defender received a red-card for clashing with Buxey.
After the break, Roger’s pass allowed Buxey to complete his treble for 5-1.
Stuart Lock then fired in No 6, with Drewitt and Buxey completing the rout.
Bicester 3rd stayed top of the Open Division 9 on goal difference from Oxford Hamsters after a 3-1 home victory against Bracknell Terriers.
Early on, Bicester were indebted to their keeper Adam Giles, who pulled off a triple goalline save to deny British Airways.
Bicester took the lead when Alan Edwards’s pass found Steve Birtles who finished at the near post.
The hosts made it 2-0 when John Matthews converted a penalty corner, before Bracknell clawed one back via a penalty stroke.
But victory was sealed when Chris Birch made it 3-1 from close range.
