MARTIAL ARTS: Davis claims golden trio
11:00am Saturday 29th September 2012 in Sport
Cark Davis was the star of the show as Vale TKD picked up three gold medals at the Scottish Taekwondo Championships in Glasgow.
This was a notable feat as the club-based in Wantage and Henley, sent only a three-man team.
They were club instructor Davis plus pupils Ben Pickett and Steven Stone, with two of them winning the top overall competitor award in their category.
Davis was the overall adult black belt champion with a bronze medal in patterns plus golds in both sparring power breaking.
It’s the third year running he has won the Scottish sparring division and means that he is unbeaten for 22 months in all sparring.
“This is something I’m very proud of,” he said.
“I am looking to reach the two-year undefeated mark at the British Championships in November.”
Stone won gold medals in the pattern discipline and power breaking, and also collected a silver in sparring.
This made him the overall adult colour belt champion.
Pickett added to the success by picking up bronze in the yellow belt patterns. Davis runs his own children’s class starting next month.
He can be contacted on 07846 475422 or via the club website www.valetkd.com.
