Oxford City A pinched the OLTA Wilson League Mixed Division 1 title in a dramatic finish to the season.
Virgin Active drew their last game 2-2 against Banbury Town, meaning a 4-0 win for City’s team of John Ruddock, Beth Simmons, Jo Love and Ben Newborn against Witney would see them pip their rivals to become champions.
The match was switched indoors to White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre, Abingdon, due to rain – and City delivered a whitewash.
It saw them win the much-coveted Mixed Rose Bowl, which dates back to 1930 and is the most valuable trophy in Oxfordshire tennis.
