SWIMMING: Whitley leads in Bicester winners

Tom Whitley, Freddie Ash-ley-Sparkes, Lottie Wynne-Jones and Maddy Powell led the way as Bicester Blue Fins finished last in the third and final round of the Milton Keynes & District Junior Division 1 at Temple Cowley in Oxford.

Whitley won the under nine boys 25m breaststroke, with Ashley-Sparkes taking the ten-year-olds’ 50m butterfly, while nine-year-old pair Wynne-Jones and Powell won the 25m butterfly and 25m backstroke respectively.

Whitley, Chris Littleton, Cameron Digman and Zack Obied combined to finish third in the relay.

Ashley-Sparks linked up with Matty Thornley, Alex Pryce and Lucas Davis to triumph in the medley relay.

Obied, Whitley, Littleton and Angus Pollock finished second in the 4x25m medley relay.

Powell and Wynne-Jones teamed up with Ella Little-wood and Alex Pluckrose to win the 4x25m freestyle relay.

Littlewood, Powell, and Wynne-Jones and Eveena Sh-ah also won the 4x25m medley relay.

Shah was third in the nine-year-old 25m breaststroke, as was Wynne-Jones in the ten-year-old 25m butterfly.

Gala Result: 1 Brompton 216pts, 2 City of Oxford 204, 3 Windsor 199, 4 Boro of Harrow 181, 5 Bicester 167.
