MOTORSPORT: Walkinshaw on a mission
11:00am Saturday 22nd September 2012 in Sport
Chipping Norton’s Fergus Walkinshaw heads to the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup rounds at Rockingham, near Corby, this weekend with a new mission in mind.
The 21-year-old Oxford Brookes University student, who stands ninth in the series, will be driving awareness of National Air Ambulance Week, which runs from Monday to Sunday, within his new role as motorsport advocate for the Association of Air Ambulances.
Walkinshaw, who will sport a motivational message on his Century Motorsport car, said: “The services provided by the charities across England are of paramount importance, while of course sports such as motor racing rely on their specialist trauma support.
“I think it’s a common misconception that air ambulances are funded by the government, in reality they cannot operate without public donations.”

s/29349 and we need as many signatures as possible. The government have refused to pay back the VAT but have said they will hold a review. This seems to have stalled and we need people to write to their MP asking them to ask the Treasury to hold the review and pay back the VAT. Anything you can do to promote the campaign will help and could save lives.
