YOUTH FOOTBALL: Bardwell heroics are not enough
11:00am Thursday 20th September 2012 in Sport
A superb comeback from Bardwell was not enough as they went down to a 4-3 defeat at Tower Hill in the Giles Sports Under 12 A Youth League.
Trailing to goals from Piers Walton (2), Jordan Thomas and Kyle Rawlings, Seb Fox clawed a goal back, with Ashley Thompson reducing the deficit from close-range.
And the revival was on when Fox netted his second.
But despite their efforts, Bardwell were unable to fashion an equaliser.
Ben Graham, Kasim Tho-mas, Benjamin Cox and Reece Sullivan were on target for Bicester Town Colts as they beat Brackley Athletic Jaffas 4-3 in the D League.
Brandon Lawton, Fabian Norris and Jack Kempton netted for Brackley.
Bicester Town Colts Foxes drew 1-1 at home to Tower Hill in the Under 15 A League.
Cain Campbell scored for the hosts, with William Goldie on target for the visitors.
Launton were held to a 3-3 draw at home to Brackley Athletic Jaffas in the Under 14 A League.
Simon Lee, Miguel Zilvetti and Max Hine put Launton seemingly in control.
But a double from Dan Bro-oks and an Oliver Hammond strike saw the visitors hit back for a share of the spoils.
Marsh Gibbon lost 3-2 at Charlbury Town Youth in the C League.
Thomas Knapton cancelled out Liam Harris’s opener for Charlbury, only for the same player to restore the home side’s lead.
After the break, Harris completed his hat-trick and although Thomas Maskell clawed a goal back it wasn’t enough as Charlbury held on for victory.
Chesterton Juniors beat Chadlington Whites 2-0 in the Under 10 Red League.
Charlie Hollingworth fired them ahead, with Nicholas Rees doubling their advantage.
Luke Thompson and Kristian Smith scored for Launton Boys in a 2-2 draw with Kingston Colts in the Under 9 Blue League.
Launton Boys Blues were edged out 3-2 at North Leigh in the Green League.
Jamil Green and Stanley Deeley scored for Launton, with Owain Cartwright scoring a treble for North Leigh.
