SWIMMING: Didcot's duo star

The Didcot Barramundi duo of Oliver Beard, 13, and Ollie Ripley, 14, both emerged with trophies when competing in the Big South Swim open water competition at Bray Lake, near Maidenhead.
In his first open water race, Beard secured a double triumph in the 2km swim, coming first overall and taking the junior title in a time of 26mins 05secs.There were 44 competitors in all.
While Ripley had competed in open water before, this was his first attempt at 5km.
He finished second out of 49 swimmers, but was the first junior home in 1.01.33.
