FOOTBALL: Tippey's strike is key for Bardwell

Bardwell got their Giles Sports Witney Youth Under 11 White League campaign off to a great start with a 3-1 win at Brackley Athletic.

Tiago Goncalves gave them an early lead with a super finish.

Although Brackley levelled, Callum Rayson restored Bardwell’s lead after the break.

The points were sealed thanks to a fine solo goal from Luis Tippey. William Goldie scored a late equaliser as Bicester Town Colts Foxes drew 1-1 at home to Tower Hill in the Under 15 A League.

Cain Campbell had put the visitors ahead.

Ryan Costello netted the leveller as Bardwell fought back to draw 2-2 at home to Banbury United Youth in the Under 12 A League.

Hamish Hall fired the hosts ahead with a penalty, only for George Nowell to level.

Bardwell let in an own goal, but Costello salvaged a point.

Matthew Innes scored the winner for Highfield Juniors as they won 4-3 at Charlbury Town Youth in the Under 10 Green League.

Samuel Brittain, Jamie Diamond and Ethan Gough were their other scorers.

However, Mark Milner’s brace saw Charlbury level at 3-3 with ten minutes left.

But Innes then fired in the winner from distance.
