ICE HOCKEY: Stars ready for off

OXFORD City Stars are all set for their National League Division 2 South season, which gets under way at Swindon Wildcats 2nd today.

And they completed their squad for the forthcoming season with two more signings this week – both players returning to the club.

Joe Edwards joins from Milton Keynes Thunder, while Sam Brou-ghton re-signs from last season.

Coach Jeff Sykora is confident the duo can bring goals to his side.

“Joe Edwards and Sam Broughton round off a solid offensive squad for us,” Sykora said.

“Joe should bring back a physical offensive presence, while Sam's speed and determination will surely lead to a wealth of points.

“Scoring goals should not be a problem with these two.”
