DANIEL Boateng is looking to gain as much experience as possible at Oxford United during a loan spell from Arsenal.
The 19-year-old, who has made one appearance for Arsene Wenger’s first-team, will be with the U’s until January.
Boateng made his debut as a substitute in the 3-0 defeat at Leeds United on Tuesday and will be in the squad at York City tomorrow.
The versatile defender is keen to make the most of the opportunity.
He said: “To be honest, in terms of the age I’m at now it’s just a matter of getting games.
“Centre backs don’t really break through until 22, so it’s all about learning my trade.”
Boateng’s only other senior experience came in a loan spell at Swindon last season which lasted just two games.
He said: “I had a taste, but it wasn’t enough, so I’m back to put things right.
“It’s a lot quicker and everyone down in League Two is strong.
“In the reserves you have time and space and can get away with a few things, but here there’s no chance of that, especially in the air.”
