CRICKET: Harper's heroics are the key to Westbury win

A six-wicket haul from Charlie Harper helped Westbury keep up the pressure on leaders Oxenford as they moved up to second in OCA League Division 1 with a 66-run win over arch rivals Great Horwood.

Tom Wilson scored 54 as Westbury posted 183-7, before Charlie Harper claimed 6-32 as Horwood were all out for 117.

Rod Baker took five wickets as Westcott won by 11 runs at in-form East & West Hendred.

Najam Ur Rehman hit 63 in Westcott’s 152 all out, Charlie Mulford starring with 7-32.

But Hendred fell to 141 as Baker claimed 5-24.

Fringford skittled Kenn-ington for 43 in a nine-wicket win in Division 4.

John Bacon took 5-14 and Shaun Foote 5-19 for Fringford, who then raced to 46-1.

Chesterton edged out Dedd-ington by two wickets.

Chasing 137-8, Chesterton reached 138-8 as Phil Lowe hit 76 not out.

Westbury 2nd crashed to a ten-wicket defeat against Kidlington in Division 6.

Leighton James took 6-23 as Westbury were shot out for 86, which Kidlington easily overhauled.

In Division 11, Gary Ellis hit 90 as Westcott 2nd won by 116 runs against Ducklington 2nd.

Ellis then took 4-35 as Duck-lington were all out for 101, chasing Westcott’s 217-8.
