FORMER Bicester Town manager Chris Hurley will become the new Clanfield boss after Peter Osborne steps down at the end of the season.

Hurley (pictured) will be assisted by Dan Tompkins at the Division 1 West club.

Osborne, who had a big say in the appointment of his successor, felt that the time was right for a change at the head of team affairs.

He said: “I would like to think that our current squad is reasonably strong and on our day we have been a match for most teams.

“Chris is an experienced manager who brought his team through to a possible promotion spot in the last game of the season.

“Sadly, for non-football reasons, Bicester folded and Chris was denied the opportunity to take them into the Premier Division.”

Osborne himself will remain with the club. He will be hoping to take forward some off field projects one of which will be the replacement of the existing dressing rooms.
