Bicester Community College’s Lauren Haynes has netted a place in the England Under 15 squad.

The teenager earned her a call-up to the 19-girl squad after impressing at a four-day trial at Lilleshall.

A member of the Arsenal Academy, Haynes, whose ambition is to become a professional, has also been invited to an England Under 17s fitness testing session.

Jane Causon, acting headteacher at Bicester Comm-unity College, said everyone at the school was delighted by the youngster’s success.

“Lauren has shown tremendous determination and focus to develop her fitness and football skills to this level,” she said. “It’s a credit to her consistent effort that the England scouts have chosen her to join the squad.”
