Bicester's Jackson Curtis warmed up for next weekend’s English Schools’ Championships at Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield with a thumping victory in the under 17 javelin (53.25m) at the Oxfordshire Young Athletes league at Drayton.
Curtis, a pupil at Cokethorpe School in Witney, followed that up by winning the 100m in 11.8secs before taking the long jump title with a leap of 5.30m.
Jonah Sweeney won the under 13 boys’ 75m hurdles in a national grade 2 time of 13.6, and also won the high jump (1.38m).
Under 15 boy Freddie Curtis took the javelin (44.70 m) and high jump (1.60 metres). Brother Redford struck gold throwing a national grade 2 26.69m in the discus, to set a club record on his debut.
Tom Bosher won the long jump in a grade 1 distance of 4.82m and was second in the under 13 100m (13.3secs) and 200m (27.3 secs), both in national grade 2 times.
