ATHLETICS: Marley is second


Bicester-based Alchester runner Nigel Marley finished second to long-time rival Steve Male in the Thame 10K on Sunday.

Male finished in 33mins 53secs, with Marley, who was running for Coventry Godiva 11 seconds behind.

l David Kuester struck gold at the British Masters Throws Decathlon Championships in Stoke, scoring 5,398 points – a personal best for the Bicester AC veteran.

He also broke a British 65-69 age group record of 48.88m in the grenade, as well as wins in the javelin, heavy weight, slingball and one-handed hammer.
