ATHLETICS: Bicester AC’S Ben West broke the four-minute barrier in the 1,500m for the first time at the BMC Grand Prix in Watford.

The under 20 runner posted 3mins 57.78secs to finish fourth in the F race.

Bicester were in action at the Sandra Lake Memorial meeting at Horspath, where performances were converted into star awards – five being the top.

Under 15 Samuel Rayson earned top marks for his 222 points, setting pbs in the 80m hurdles, long jump and shot.

Hollie Offord and Isla Bohannon also achieved five stars.

Under 12 Offord recorded 3.89m in the long jump as well as putting in strong performances in the 70m hurdles and 200m.

Bohannon set pbs of 14.15secs in the under 13 100m and 13.67 in the 70m hurdles.

Amber Parker won four stars with 25.98 in the under 15 discus and 9.10 in the shot.

In the under 14 boys age group, Michael Cadle, who set pbs in the high jump and 200m, and Ben Groves earned four stars.

Other four-star performers were Freya McGinlay (U13), Isabelle Webb, Jessica Garside (both U11), Annie Rose Willis (U10), Katie Groves (U12), Kyle Rayson (U11) and Django La Porter (U12).
