EDDIE Pepperell and Kirsty Miller claimed top honours at last night’s Oxfordshire Sports Awards.

Golfer Pepperell and taekwon-do star Miller landed the sportsman and sportswoman of the year accolades at the Kassam Stadium.

Abingdon Gymnastics were named club of the year, with Oxford Brookes University’s 1st VIII rowers taking the team of the year crown after their historic, unbeaten season.

Gymnast Ben Goodall and canoeist Enya Dale won the junior sportsman and sportswoman awards.

Great & Little Tew stalwart Gordon Taylor was presented with the unsung hero honour for his 65 years service to the west Oxfordshire cricket club.

Junior sportsman of year – Winner: Ben Goodall (gymnastics). Runners-up: William Jeffrey (cycle speedway), Ethan Rose (badminton).

Junior sportswoman of year – Winner: Enya Dale (canoeing). Runners-up: Rowena Hearn (hockey), Elizabeth Ireland (nordic skiing).

Junior team of year – Winner: Oxford Academy Under 14 (football). Runners-up: Clanfield Under 18 (football), Team Matrix (netball).

Sporting primary school – Winner: Batt, Witney. Runners-up: Bladon, Sunningwell.

Sporting secondary school – Winner: Blessed George Napier. Runners-up: Cherwell, King Alfred’s Academy.
