BICESTER Ladies remain top of the table after a dominant 6-0 win at Reading Rebels.

They continued their great start to the Trysports Three Counties Division 1 season, with an impressive away performance.

Bicester made the perfect start, taking the lead after 27 seconds when Nicolene Willers ghosted in at the back post to score.

The lead was doubled, thanks to Lisa Elliott’s deflection.

Alison Haik came close on several occasions, before Willers made it 3-0 with a well-struck effort into the bottom corner.

Faye Bennett then opened her league account, giving the goalkeeper no chance for Bicester’s fourth goal before half-time.

Reading sat deeper after the break, but Beatrice Gunn set up Haik to slot home number five.

Elliott then scored her second to secure the victory.

Shannon Nicole and Abbie Stevens went close late on, but it did not matter.

Bicester’s men returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home victory over Sonning in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.

The hosts took the lead in the first half, when Adam Buxey found Jonny Reid, whose reverse flick trickled over the line.

Sonning equalised after the break, thanks to a deflection goal.

But it did not take long for Bicester to retake the lead as Ben Kirk converted from a well-worked short corner.

They then closed out the game to secure all three points.
