OXFORD City Stars have bolstered their squad with the signing of experienced defensive player Andrew Shurmer.
The 33-year-old is already familiar with the club, having notched 15 goals and 41 assists in 69 games during 2008 and 2011.
Swindon-born Shurmer has also played for Bristol Pitbulls, Cardiff Devils and Wightlink Raiders.
But Stars will be the defender’s first club since taking a break from the sport in 2013.
Head coach Kenny Redmond said: “I’m delighted with the signing, he is a really composed player on and off the puck and he reads the game really well, I’m sure he’ll be a great addition.”
Stars visit Bracknell Hornets tonight (6pm) after starting the NIHL Division 2 South season with convincing wins over Guildford Phoenix and Bristol Pitbulls last weekend.
