EDDIE Pepperell will be looking to continue his excellent form on the European Tour when he competes at the Portugal Masters from today.

The Abingdon golfer carded a superb final round of 65 to rocket up to joint third place at the KLM Open in the Netherlands on Sunday.

It backed up his previous outing – where he claimed a share of fifth place at the D+D Real Czech Masters.

Pepperell has never before had back-to-back top-five finishes on Tour, which have sent him climbing to 75th in the rankings.

With his card for next season virtually assured, the 26-year-old needs to keep the strong results coming if he is to fulfil an aim of a top-60 finish, earning an entry to the season climax in Dubai.

Pepperell, who represents Frilford Heath, begins his first round at Vilamoura at 12.50pm today, alongside compatriot Tom Lewis and George Coetzee, from South Africa.

The Oxfordshire star will not be short on confidence after claiming the best closing round at the KLM Open.

He birdied three of the last four holes to finish on a 13-under-par total of 271, just two shots behind the winner Romain Wattel, of France.
