CITY of Oxford’s Hannah England comfortably won the 1500 metres in the Loughborough International meeting yesterday.
England, who opened her season with an 800m race in Manchester last week, was running as a guest.
England was hot favourite for the race and duly delivered.
She ran just off the pace for the first three laps, taking the lead on the home straight and finishing strongly.
Next Sunday she will contest the Westminster mile, a race she has previously won.
Kyle Ennis, from Banbury, came fourth in the men’s 200 metres. He was delighted with his first England vest “first time, a bit of a shock but all good”.
He said of the race which was won by Richard Kilty, former World Indoor 60 metre champion, “I was against some quick people so I just had to keep with them”.
