TANVEER Hussain starred with bat and ball as Westcott started their OCA League Division 2 campaign with a 93-run win at home to Clifton Hampden.
Hussain top-scored with 49 in Westcott’s 191-7, then took 6-22 with the ball to help dismiss Clifton for just 98.
Marsh Gibbon ran out three-wicket winners at Chadlington.
Dan Townsend (51) and Freddie Magee (45) helped Chadlington to 171-5, but Joe Leonard (41) led Gibbon to 172-7.
In Division 3, Fringford were no match for Cairns Fudge, who cruised to a nine-wicket win.
Harry Newell claimed 5-34 as Fringford were bowled out for 171, Sanjeewa Jayakody hitting 52.
Tom Small then hit 84 and Martin Hanscombe 42 not out to steer Fudge to 174-1.
Andy Wynd was the star of the show for Brill as his side beat visitors Dorchester by 98 runs in Division 4.
Wynd top-scored with 67 as Brill posted 202 all out, Lawrence Belcher returning 6-70.
Wynd then took 5-15 in 12 tight overs as Dorchester fell for just 104.
Westcott 2nd edged out hosts Charlbury 3rd by one wicket in Division 8 North.
Chasing Charlbury’s 181-7, Westcott reached 184-9, thanks largely to Tom Young’s 53.
OXFORD & Bletchingdon Nondescripts begin their Cherwell League Division 2 campaign at home to Leighton Buzzard Town on Saturday.
In Division 3, Bicester & North Oxford open their season with an away match against Wolverton Town.
Westcott kickstart their campaign at home to Cublington.
