OXFORDSHIRE Under 18s completed their season with sixth place in National Shires League finals at Stoke Mandeville.
The team of Ethan Rose, Christian Mitchell, Kaylan Jensen, James Moreton-Smith, Luke Backley, Isaac Woods, Natalia Mitchell, Maisie Boyd, Bronwynn Ready, Maisie Marriott and Hannah Craig made a slow start to the day losing 17-3 to a strong Warwickshire team.
Oxon defeated Leicestershire 11-9 in their second round of matches to set up a showdown with Bucks to decide who would finish fith and sixth Earlier in the season, Bucks had won 11-9, so a close match was expected.
After ten games the score was 5-5, but Bucks then pushed ahead, taking eight of the last ten to win 13-7 Despite this disappointment, the team can be proud of equalling the highest ever placing achieved by an Oxon team in this tournament.
