BICESTER Town overcame the absence of six players to record a 3-1 success at home to Holyport in Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East.

The loss of injured utility player Kieran Scott for the season was a big blow for the hosts.

But a commanding display from Adam Garner helped them home

However, they suffered a setback in the ninth minute when keeper Joe White uncharacteristically dropped an innocuous-looking cross at the feet of Holyport winger Ben Wall, who walked the ball into the back of the net.

The home side went close to equalising when Elliot Powell miscued from 12 yards out.

They eventually made it 1-1 just before half-time when centre-back Garner smashed the ball into the roof of the net from ten yards

Gradually Bicester gained control of the midfield and took the lead in the 75th minute through winger Ricardo Benjamin after good work from Garner and Jason Prpa.

Four minutes later, Bicester put the game out of Holyport’s reach with their third goal.

Powell sprinted down the left wing before crossing to Danny Bone and last season’s top scorer made no mistake.

This Saturday, Bicester will be aiming to keep up their good form when they travel to face Headington Amateurs.
