GEOFF Lewendon won the warm-up for tomorrow’s next round of the Oxford Winter League by winning the practice match on the Kennet and Avon at Upper Dunmill, Hungerford The Drennan Oxford matchman caught five perch for 8lb 14oz.
Martin Kirk (Sensas A4) was second with 8.5, with another Drennan Oxford angler, John Beesley, third with 6.6 Harry Oliver showed his class to win the fourth round of Yarnton AC’s Winter league at Bishops Bowl.
Fishing between maggot over micros on the pole and bread on a straight lead, he netted 39.5 of carp.
Steve Johnson was second on 23.12, with Jamie Godfrey third with 17.15.
