RICHARD Gould was Alchester’s top performer at the Waddesdon Manor 5km Hill Road Race.

Gould led a contingent of ten runners from the north Oxfordshire club, crossing as the first vet 40 runner in tenth place in a time of 18mins 15secs.

He was closely followed by Ian Hunter in 18th, who recorded a season’s best of 18.56, and Richard Francis in 24th (19.11).

Bicester’s under 17 runner Tom Gould came 35th.

David Basham, of Alchester, took first prize in the vet 70 category, crossing 158th, just ahead of clubmate Nigel Lambert.

Naomi Sharma was the first Alchester woman in 123rd.
