THERE was drama as Fringford won a thrilling encounter at Stanton Harcourt by one run in Division 3.

John Bacon’s 46 and Royston Blake’s 36 saw visitors Fringford reach 196 all out in the OCA League clash, Andy Walker taking 4-44 for the hosts.

Stanton were always in the hunt, helped by Callum Parker’s 56.

But they finished agonisingly short on 195-9, with the wickets being shared by the Fringford bowlers

Westcott missed out on a chance to close the gap at the top of the division.

With leaders Eynsham not in action, Westcott fell to a 58-run defeat at Kidlington.

Andy Oliver (53) and Craig Woods (49) helped Kidlington to 203-9, but it was Edd Wilmot,who provided the match-winning performance.

He returned superb figures of 6-40 as Westcott slumped to 145 all out.

Another one-man Andy Wynd show helped Brill to a 29-run win at Hook Norton to close the gap on leaders Bampton in Division 5.

Former Horspath player Wynd smashed 103 out of Brill’s 233-6, and then claimed 4-31 in Hook Norton’s 204 all out.

Harinath Ellanki took 7-45 as Division 9 leaders Chesterton saw off hosts Charlbury 3rd by 18 runs.

Peter Whitlock’s 65 and 58 from Alfie Appleton helped Chesterton to 182 all out.

Ellanki then took his magnificent haul as Charlbury fell for 164.

Marsh Gibbon crashed out of the Airey Cup at the quarter-final stage as they lost by nine wickets to Clifton Hampden.

Laurence Harvey claimed 4-11 as Clifton dismissed their hosts for just 72, and then David Pimm hit 33 not out to steer them to 73-1.
