MILLIE Couzens continued her habit of breaking club records as Bicester finished second in the UK Youth Development League meeting at Tamworth.

Couzens set new marks in the under 13 1,200m and 70m hurdles at the Division 2B meet.

She finished second in the 1,200m in 4mins 4.7secs, one of her three national grade 2 efforts of the day.

Couzens won the long jump with 4.38m and came third in the hurdles (12.4).

Not to be outdone, brother Tom set three new bests in the under 15 boys, finishing second in the 800m (2.20.9), as well as the 80m hurdles (13.9), and third in the long jump (4.77).

Jamil Welham matched Couzens’s jump to win the B-string, while Joe Mimpress recorded pbs and came second in all three of his events (javelin, shot and high jump).

Lauren Garside set a new club record and pb in clinching victory in the under 15 girls’ shot (8.03), while Amy Gould landed second and set a best of 17.6 in the 75m hurdles.

Molly Acton continued her steady improvement in the 800m, finishing runner-up in a season’s best of 2.30.3.

Amber Parker recorded bests of 6.58 and 17.58 to come second and third in the under 13 girls’ shot and javelin respectively.

Erin Fabri finshed third in the 75m with a pb of 12.3.

There was a double first for Bicester in the boys’ high jump with Thomas Whitley winning the A-string and Samuel Rayson the B event.

Rayson also won the 75m hurdles, while Whitley had a good afternoon with two pbs in the javelin (18.21m) and 1500m (5.38.1) where he was 3rd in 5mins 38.1s.
