OXFORD & Bletchingdon Nondescripts’ Cherwell League Division 2 clash at Abingdon Vale was one of several matches abandoned due to rain on Saturday.

Nondies were shot out for a paltry 117, thanks to spinner Paul White’s 4-14. Jonathan Jenkinson and Matthew Darley also took two wickets each.

But the weather intervened in timely fashion as Vale were denied the opportunity to reply and the game was abandoned.

Twyford were set to chase visitors Horspath’s 213-8 in Division 1, but never made it back onto the field for their innings due to the weather.

In Division 4, Bicester & North Oxford were denied victory at home to Stokenchurch by the rain.

Bicester had bowled the visitors out for just 102, before the match was abandoned.

Westbury were denied by the rain after another solid batting display saw them set 234 against hosts Kimble.

Ben Rae led the way with 70 for Westbury, who were all out inside 35 overs, but the match was then called off.

Nathan Perna had put Twyford 2nd into a strong position at Buckingham Town 3rd in Division 6, but it was all for nothing as the rain had the final say.

Perna had hit 60 out of Twyford’s 120 all out, but Buckingham were reeling on 25-4 as Perna then took 3-7, only for the match to be called off.

Westbury 2nd could not force victory at home to Kimble, despite the match running its full course in Division 8.

Dan Willett hit 69 as Westbury declared on 195-8, but Kimble closed out for a draw at 105-5 to frustrate the hosts.

In Division 9 North, Bicester & North Oxford 3rd’s clash with hosts Bletchley Town was washed out.

Bicester had reached 151-9 as Robin Wilkins hit 53.
