DUSAN Gavrilovic has left Studley Wood to become the professional at one of the leading clubs in the south of England.
Apart from a short spell at Magnolia Park, the 55-year-old, from Chesterton, has been Studley Wood’s head professional since 1996.
Now he has been appointed to the same post at The Buckinghamshire Club at Denham.
Established in 1992, the club has staged events on the European PGA Seniors Tour and the Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf European final in 1997, which was won by Colin Montgomerie.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to work at a prestigious club,” said Gavrilovic, who will be commuting each day from Chesterton.
Gavrilovic has attempted to play in the British Seniors Tour, competing in two tournaments, but regards himself essentially as a “club pro”.
One of his proudest moments was to win the Berks Bucks & Oxfordshire Professionals Championship.
“It’s been great working at Studley and seeing it develop into one of the best courses in Oxfordshire, “ said Gavrilovic.
“They’re a great bunch of people. But this was too good an opportunity to turn down.”
Studley Wood held a farewell party for their departing head pro at the Kings Arms, Woodstock.
