CHIPPING Norton driver Sean Walkinshaw resumes his debut season in the Blancpain Endurance and Sprint Series at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal this weekend.

Teaming up with fellow Briton Craig Dolby in the Sprint Series, with the duo joined by compatriot Martin Plowman for the Endurance event, Walkinshaw and his JRM Group teammates return following a six-week break.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to being back racing.

“We’re all fully focused on getting the second part of the year off to a really strong start in Portimao in the Sprint Series and challenging for some good points.”

Walkinshaw claimed his first podium finish in the discipline at Brands Hatch back in May.

With three races remaining in the Sprint season, the 21-year-old finds himself joint 12th in the standings.

He said: “It’s going to be really important to put together some consistently strong performances and try to start climbing back up the championship.”
