MORE than £8,000 has been raised in two days to pay for an operation needed by former Oxford United striker Scott Rendell.
The 28-year-old faced the U’s in pre-season for Woking last month, but will miss the rest of the campaign after damaging knee ligaments.
Treatment will cost £10,000, but it is already within reach after the Cards set up a crowdfunding page on Tuesday.
Donations have flooded in from across the football community and Rendell, whose previous clubs also include Luton Town, has been overwhelmed.
He tweeted: “Thank you for the support ive had from every1 especially from @wokingfc and the fans. The amount raised in such a short time is unbelievable.”
Woking are hoping to reach the target before their game with Altrincham tomorrow.
