West Oxford Democrats Club A scraped through to the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League’s Threes competition semi-finals after fighting back to pip their B side by ten points on aggregate.
Playing on the Vikings table, the A team of Richard Garrett, John Patey and Terry Green trailed 3-0 against Bob Parsons, Eddie Tebby and Billy Hill.
However, they rallied to draw 3-3, and progressed on aggregate points.
Berinsfield A’s Craig Mace, Geoff Mace and Tony Broadway knocked out favourites Mark Trafford, Ian Gordon and Pauline Withey (Kennington Club) at Didcot Conservative Club.

Vikings’ Alan Oliver, Allan Lacey and Ian Moss came from 2-0 down to beat Berinsfield B 4-2’s John Boal, Phil McFarland and Colin Plant at Kennington Club.
In the Pairs quarter-final, Pete Ewins and Mike Jones (10,000 break) defeated Gladiators’ Bob Pincombe and Keith Gardner 3-0 at Headington Conservative Club.
Marlborough’s Chris Bateman knocked out Vikings’ Bob Allsworth 7,250-6,070 in the Captains Cup at the same venue.
