Alexis Canter reached 96 in the ITF world junior rankings after a super display in the Grade 2 event in New Delhi.

The Long Wittenham youngster reached the semi-final of the singles event before losing 6-4, 6-4 to Cing-Yang Meng, from Taipei.

Canter got his revenge by partnering Yuya Ito, from Japan, to win the doubles title 6-2, 6-3 against Meng, who partnered singles winner Lim, from the Philippines.

Oxfordshire's 14 and under team finished last in both boys and girls events at the 12 Counties Championships in Corby.

The boys lost 3-1 against Norfolk, despite Sam Christie winning his match. They also went down 4-0 to Cambridgeshire and 3-1 to Northants, Louis Manson securing their only win.

Oxon girls lost 4-0 to Norfolk, 3-1 to Cambridgeshire and 3-1 to Northants, their two singles wins coming from Saffy Gujral and Raia Jagger.

Oxford City’s in Ladies Division 1 in the Thames Valley Winter League was cut to one point after they were held to a 4-4 draw away to Banbury West End.

Woodstock closed the gap with a 7-1 win against Banbury.
