Oxford City general manager Justin Merritt admitted his side are still not the finished product, following their 2-1 defeat at Lowestoft Town.

It was City’s second successive defeat, leaving Merritt questioning his side’s fortitude in recent weeks.

“We’ve got some issues that we need to address,” he said.

“When we go behind or something goes against us we seem to struggle to come back from that.

“Sometimes you’ve got to dust yourselves down, pick yourselves back up again and keep believing in what you’re doing.”

Confidence has taken a knock following recent setbacks, but Merritt feels it is important that his side continue to do the things which have fired them into the upper echelons of Vanarama Conference North.

“We still had opportunities today to score goals,” he added.

“But we have two or three key players who are out of form a little bit and we need to get them back into form as quickly as we can.”
