Westbury kept up the pressure on OCA League Division 1 leaders Cowley Internationals, with a 106-run win at Hook Norton.

Tom Gurney put in a great performance with both bat and ball for Westbury, who were recording their fourth success in a row.

First, he contributed 90 of his team’s 237-5 and then grabbed 4-27 as the hosts were dismissed for 131.

Hook Norton 4pts, Westbury 30 In Division 3, tremendous bowling from Chesterton pace duo Trevor Price (5-12) and Steve Lewis (4-17) skittled Wolvercote for 94.

Graham White then cracked a sure-fire 49 as the home team won by nine wickets.

The result saw them displace Cairns Fudge at the head of the table.

Chesterton 30, Wolvercote 1 In a close contest, Marsh Gibbon piled on  198-8 at Fringford, Stuart Leonard making 66.

Jonny Reid then followed up his ton the previous week with 60, but his side were all out for 171.

Steven Turner was the pick of the bowlers with 4-41.

Fringford 7, Marsh Gibbon 29 An unbeaten 60 from Rehman Ullah helped steer Westcott to a five-wicket home win against Eynsham.

Waqas Ur-Rehman recorded figures of 6-26 as Eynsham struggled to 131.

Ullah’s heroics then steered his team home for the loss of five wickets.

Eynsham 4, Westcott 29 Fifteen-year-old Harry Lewis, scored 97 as Westbury 2nd recorded 248 at home to Hook Norton 2nd in Division 6.

Hooky went down by 61 runs as they were restricted to 187-7, Ron Ridgeway taking 3-43.

Nick Judd top-scored with 40 as he helped Brill to a four-wicket home win against East & West Hendred 2nd in Division 7.

The visitors were restricted to 161-7, Colin Young capturing 3-36.

Brill then went past the victory target with six wickets down.

Brill 28, E&W Hendred 6 Chesterton 2nd lost by 36 runs at Sunningwell 2nd in Division 9.

Sunningwell were dismissed for 162, Richard Dumbleton taking 3-33.

But Chesterton were rolled over for 126, Peter Talbot top-scoring with 45. Andrew Barrett took 3-32.

Sunningwell 2nd 28, Chesterton 2nd 7 Westcott 2nd failed to cope with the menace of Steve Edwards as they lost by 66 runs at home to Kilkenny 2nd in Division 10.

Kilkenny reached 140-8, before Edwards rattled thro-ugh the Westcott batting with 5-10 as they were skittled for 64.

Westcott 2nd 5, Kilkenny 2nd 27 All three results were possible up to the last ball as hosts Chesterton 2nd edged out Sunningwell 2nd by two wickets in the Centenary Cup quarter-finals.

Chesterton’s pair of captain Ami Mishra (62no) and Alan Phillips (8no) came together needing 39 runs from nine overs and scrambled home with a single off a wide.

JJ Smith (51) led Sunnin-gwell to 160, which looked like being enough, despite Simon Morse taking 4-42.

Chesterton needed more than 100 at the half-way stage with only five wickets left and played out the penultimate over as a maiden, but still edged through.
