Oakfield staged their two-day Dynamite Spring Festival split over their two lakes, Red Kite and Swallow, with 36 anglers taking part.

Joff Rogers was the overall winner, helped by a first-day winning weight of 107lb 7oz.

He fished banded hard pellet over loose-fed pellet with a bag of small carp in the 2lb-4lb range.

Top weight from Red Kite Lake was Gary Thorpe’s 63.0.8. Day two saw Roger Young catch carp to 8lb on Swallow Lake for a top weight of 125.9.0.

Overall Festival result: 1 J Rogers 151.1.0, 2 G Thorpe 176.4.8, 3 R Young 147.8.0.

Nine anglers fished the opening match in Masons AC’s Points League at Laura’s Lagoon in Harwell.

Jason Smith caught one carp and a tench, along with some skimmers, perch and rudd on chopped worm close in, for a winning 14.1.0.

Lee Funge used similar tactics for a tench and a net of smaller fish to finish runner-up with 13.5.0, followed by Steve Wildman with 11.8.0.

Marston AC FTB will be holding a work party on Saturday, June 14 to prepare their own stretch of the River Cherwell for the new season. All members are welcome.

Marston’s permits are now on sale in all tackle shops at £10 for seniors and £5 for juniors and OAPs.

Juniors will also receive a £5 voucher to spend at the FTB shop in Northway if they purchase their permit from the shop.

All permits include full membership to the ODAA.
