The Cherry siblings led the way for Bicester AC in the Oxfordshire Track and Field Championships at Horspath Sports Ground.

Jake Cherry, 13, won the under 15 boys’ discus in 24.82m, throwing more than 20m for the first time.

He added another personal best of 33.43m to take silver in the javelin.

Sister Jess, 16, won the under 17 girls’ triple jump in 9.53m, but suffered an injury in the discus that also hampered her progress in the shot.

Bicester AC’s other gold medallist was Holly Hunter, who claimed the under 13 girls’ 70m hurdles crown in 14.33secs.

Redford Curtis, from Hard-wick near Bicester, won the under 20 men’s javelin.

The Marshall Milton Key-nes athlete threw 55.93m – just short of the record 56.64 set by his brother Freddie in 2012.

Amy Gould bagged bronze in the under 13 girls’ 800m with a time of 2mins 40.79secs, ahead of clubmate Molly Acton (2.41.60).

Gould also came fourth in the 1,500m with Acton fifth.
