Oakley United were crowned Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division champions for the first time after winning 6-0 at Mansfield Road – the only side who could deny them the crown.
Kieron Schmidt led the way with a hat-trick as Oakley dominated the midweek clash.
Aaron Rogers, Ben Gray and a great finish from Rob Goldney sealed the spoils just three days after lifting the President’s Cup again for the first time, with a 3-0 victory against the same opponents.
But the champions were brought back down to earth on Saturday, however, when Max Martini scored the only goal of the game as third-placed Freeland became the only team to complete the double over Oakley.
