DAN Studley claimed a silver medal at the British Universities and Colleges Championships.

The Oxford Brookes student ran season’s best times in the semi-final and final of the 1500m at Bedford.

Studley’s 3mins 52.47secs was good enough for second place in the final, less than a second behind Frenchman Guillaume Adam, who is studying at Birmingham University.

  • TWO Abingdon AC athletes recorded victories in the Oxford City Open Graded meeting.

David Bunn won the Under 15 1500m in 5mins 7.5secs, while Jason Bruce took the V35 800m in 2.20.13.

Meanwhile, Abingdon came third overall in the Midland League Division 5 meeting at Sutton-in-Ashfield.

  • RADLEY’S under 15 and under 13 team won the opening round of their Youth Development League at Leicester.

There were A string wins for Harry New in the under 15 80m hurdles (13.3 secs) and Rachel Burton in the under 13 1200m (4mins 9.6secs).

It helped them to 525 points, ahead of nearest challengers Halesowen (486) and Cannock & Stafford (455).
