OFF ROAD
WOODSTOCK Harriers’ Rachel Masser was the first lady home at the Compton 20.
Masser, 40, completed the 20-mile off-road race in 2hrs 31mins 22secs to finish 12th overall.
She was almost 13 minutes ahead of the second-placed lady Joanne Widdup (Great Western Runners).
Three-time former men’s winner Paul Jegou had to be content with seventh place.
Jegou (White Horse Harriers), a winner in three of the last four years, tackled the gruelling race just six days after running the Virgin Money London Marathon.
He faded in the latter stages to cross the line in 2.25.48.
Clubmate Ian Lambourn, who also completed the London Marathon, was eighth and first vet 50 man home in 2.28.59.
