OXFORD City boss Mike Ford is looking to end all their worries with a victory away to his former club Brackley Town today, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.
Histon’s 3-0 defeat to Solihull Moors, means that a win in Northants would keep City up.
“Histon have given us a lifeline – they’re handing safety to us on a plate, but ultimately we’ve got to get that one result,” said Ford after Saturday’s home defeat by Hednesford.
“We get that result – and we can go and enjoy the game next week without the nervousness and anxiety of waiting a whole week.
“It’s been a long season, but it’s drawing to a close and we’ve just got to make sure we get that one result in the next two games.”
Ford used to manage Brackley, but bragging rights are of only secondary importance.
He added: “They’ll want to beat us, but we’ll want to beat them more.”
