Oxfordshire Under 18s’ hopes of silverware were dashed with a 2-0 defeat by Cornwall in the South & West Counties Youth Championship's Mick Parry Cup final at Carterton.
Oxon had early chances, before Alex Coles fired home from 15 yards to give Cornwall the lead.
Goalkeeper Alex Grantham then made several good saves to keep Oxfordshire in the game at half-time.
He topped those efforts with a brilliant save early in the second half.
But Grantham was powerless to prevent Kyle Flew adding Cornwall’s second goal in the 68th minute when a deflected shot left him wrong-footed and the ball nestled in the opposite corner of the net.
