CAPTAIN Will Beament was full of pride after Bloxham Under 16s reached the last 16 of the Rosslyn Park HSBC National Schools Sevens.

And Bloxham won all four matches to top the Group E table and defeated Yarm School 26-14 before losing 26-12 to Sedbergh.

“We didn’t have a lot of time to prepare really because we are not a very big sevens school so I’m really pleased with our performances,” said Beament.

“I think it’s one of the best tournaments that you can go to, so as a player to be there and be playing was just great.

“As a team we aren’t going to be together forever so these chances to play at places like that are special and we enjoyed every minute.”

Bloxham’s under 18s were knocked out in the group phase, but their under 13s made the last 32, losing to St Ambrose College 26-14 “We could have won if there hadn’t been a few unforced errors, but just being there was great, it was my first time and it was just massive,” said captain Toby Parker.”

HSBC is proud to sponsor the world’s largest schools rugby tournament. All HSBC’s rugby sponsorships aim to help develop and grow the sport and ensure even more youngsters get involved with rugby.
