Bicester recorded a mammoth 16-0 win over South Bucks in Division 1 of the Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon League at Cooper School on Saturday.

South Bucks arrived with 11 players, but none of them wanted to play in goal and they used a ‘kicking-back’ instead, which proved fatal.

Bicester were 7-0 up at half-time with Dave Sutcliffe helping himself to five goals and Jonny Reid and Luke Smith also on the mark.

Sutcliffe (5), Smith (2), Reid and Simeon Nicholls completed the rout.

Bicester 2nd slipped into the bottom two of the Division 5 table for the first time this season following a 4-1 defeat at West Hampstead 6th.

The visitors had started the stronger and took the lead ten minutes before half time when Alan Edwards bundled home a loose ball.

Bicester kept up the pressure after the break as they pressed for a second goal.

However, the hosts levelled 12 minutes into the second period.

And it got worse for Bicester as they conceded three goals in a torrid five-minute spell saw the hosts cruise to victory.

Victory in either of their last two fixtures should see Bicester escape relegation.

Bicester ladies ended their Trysports Three Counties League Premier 1 campaign with a 2-1 win at home to Oxford 5th.

Trailing 1-0, Bicester soon levelled when Chelsea Cochrane fired in the rebound after the keeper saved a well-struck shot.

The hosts went ahead when Charlie Humphreys smashed the ball into the bottom corner from Kelly Holt’s pass, before closing out for the win.

Bicester 3rd drew 0-0 at home to Newbury & Thatcham in Division 5.
